In a time before all of the hype about health & safety or over-cautious parenting I enjoyed a wonderful childhood. I recall long summer evenings and magical winter mornings. It is apparent to me now that we saw much more snow back then.
I recall, with enthusiasm, waking to frost-covered gardens; my ticket to another day off school. The young community celebrated the weather. I have often since wished for it to return but all of the wishing in the world is not enough to bring some things back.
